MoFPI-PMFME Scheme

The Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) is part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, aimed at formalising small, unorganised food businesses.

Objectives of PMFME

  • Formalise micro food processing units to access credit and government benefits
  • Support FPOs, Cooperatives, and SHGs engaged in agri-food processing
  • Encourage the growth of micro-enterprises through financial and technical help

Schemes under PMFME

  • Credit Linked Subsidy: 35% subsidy on eligible project cost (maximum Rs. 10 lakhs per unit)
  • Seed Capital for SHGs: Rs. 40,000 per SHG member (up to Rs. 4 lakhs per SHG)
  • Common Infrastructure: 35% credit-linked subsidy (up to Rs. 3 Crore) for food processing units or value chains
  • Marketing & Branding: 50% grant for promoting processed food products
  • Capacity Building: Training on Food Processing Entrepreneurship Development
